Hello, Paige. A pleasure to hear from you. You asked me several questions, so I take them a bit out of order. I have lived in Chester 54 years; married and raised children here. I live in my late parents' old house in the Highland Gardens section, so I'm 10 blocks away from the Front street area. My dad grew up in Chester and worked in petro-chemicals for 25 years (first with Bryton/Conoco in Trainer, then at Monroe Chemical in Eddystone). I wrote a research paper years ago as an undergrad concerning the victimization of people in poverty areas throughout the US concerning environmental hazzards. Chester was my case study. I am not just focused on one area but all that impacts the citizens of Chester.
Professionally, I am currently an academic librarian at Neumann College. I am also a member of the Secular Franciscan Order and as such we see environmental and socially justice issues paramount to us as "Instruments of Peace". You mentioned you are researching a paper. Perhaps, I can be of assistance to you in some way? Let me know. Go to www.Neumann.edu and use the drop menu in the upper right to find "Library", then click on the "Staff" menu on the right handside of the page. My contact info is there.
